Opening Windows Live writer 2012 in Windows Server 2012 will throw wildcli.dll not found error. It looks like the web installer skips that file during installation. I re-installed and repaired the Windows Live writer for couple of times, but nothing worked out.
Finally I copied that file from existing installation location in Windows Server 2008 R2 (C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\Windows Live ) and pasted it into “C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Writer” in Windows Server 2012. This fixed the issue and now I am able to publish content via Live Writer.
